Submission to authority
A CLEAR CONSCIENCE
Having a clear conscience is being able to know that there is no one
who has ought against you that you have not done everything in your power to make it right.
Because interpersonal relationships involve different personalities, it is
necessary to work at maintaining the right attitude toward each other. These relationships might be from work, business, home, church, extended family and various circles of friends.
OFFENSE - BAIT FOR A TRAP
It needs to be understood that when someone gets his "feelings hurt", the
stage can be set for evil spirits possibly setting a "trap" for the unwary individual.
It is interesting to note that the Greek word for offense is "skandalon".
This descriptive word is actually the same word that means "bait for a trap".
For instance, when a pit was dug, small branches and leaves were then placed on top to conceal the hole. A piece of meat was then placed on top to
attract an animal. The piece of meat is referred to with the word, "skandalon".
When someone "takes offense", that individual is taking the bait for a trap
that may very well have been authored by evil spirits. The significance of this
situation is that it is often the beginning of a "slippery slope" that can lead
to resentment and bitterness by which "many are defiled".
This has been written in love and with a desire to be of service.
