One primary evidence of immaturity is when someone is constantly changing opinions. While it is good to be flexible, uncertainty can lead to chaos. In James 1:8, we learn that a doubter is double minded and that this results in instability. For this person, there is nothing stable within him.

The only way that someone can be confident in all that he does, is to have the love of God abiding within him. It is one thing to have the "seed of love" resident within, and quite another to have allowed this seed to grow to fruition. As the promises of God continue to mature within us, others will become aware of the fruit of the Spirit being operational in our lives.

The maturing of a Christian is simply allowing the Holy Spirit to bring about His perfect love within that individual. This deep love of The Spirit is ours from then on. We never have to worry about whether or not we are "good enough" for heaven. It is His abiding love that has sealed us against the attacks of the enemy.
